Dr. Elaine Tonel

Dr. Elaine is a career reinvention and success strategist who works with physicians who want a career change in medicine so they can achieve success at work and flourish in their lives.

Dr. Elaine went through her own career crisis after the birth of her son during her last year of family medicine residency and wanted to quit medicine. After getting clarity on her ideal practice and life plan, she pivoted to occupational and environmental medicine and created a fulfilling career working with well-known retail brands, insurance, pharmaceutical, energy, nuclear, mining, and managed care industries as an executive physician leader and independent medical consultant for 17 years while maintaining a full and happy family life. She is passionate about helping physicians succeed at work and flourish in their personal lives.

She holds a doctorate degree in Osteopathic Medicine and a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Toxicology. She is currently a Medical Director for Aetna, CVS Health and serves as Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California Irvine Public Health.

Outside of her passion for mentoring, coaching and training physicians, Dr. Elaine loves the outdoors, hiking, and mountain biking with her husband, son, and daughter.
